Job Description

Stillwell Lodge has a long held reputation for having the highest quality Restaurant in Charlotte Pass’s resort. To be considered for a position in our elite team, you must have proven culinary creativity, enthusiasm and be passionate about all things food. We require professional Chefs, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience, who can produce an exceptional product to a very high and consistent standard and have great communication skills while overcoming the challenges associated with supply and logistics in remote locations.
Timely and cost effective ordering, portion control and minimal wastage are essential for our operations. Our Food Safety Program is strictly adhered to and the highest standards of hygiene and quality must be maintained at all times. Chefs are also responsible for staff catering. Our Modern Australian a la carte menu is available 5 nights per week, with 2 buffets: a Roast night on Sundays and a Seafood Buffet on Wednesdays. Our restaurant is open to the public and guests for lunch and dinner, with breakfast is provided for guests only. The restaurant is often filled to capacity (60 pax) and we frequently hold second sittings to accommodate high demand, so you will need to be able to work efficiently, hygienically and at a fast pace while keeping your cool and a consistency of quality.

This is a unique chance to actually work and live in Australia’s only ski resort that is snowed in for the entire ski season. Charlotte Pass has a village atmosphere and works as a close knit community for up to 12 weeks, with the opportunity to enjoy the mountain’s recreation activities when you are not working. Positions are salaried, contracts are based on a 38-45 hour week, over 5 days, with two days off, or 6 days with one day off.

We are looking for hardworking, customer service focus individuals, with excellent references and great skills to offer our guests the very best for their 2016 ski season holiday. We need people that can really make a difference, with a happy disposition, a can do attitude, able work well as part of a team but also unsupervised at times, willing to learn and really want an experience that few get to encounter. Charlotte Pass is one of the most unique environments you will ever call home, however living in this small remote community for up to 12 weeks has its challenges and requires individuals that appreciate the isolation, are resilient, able to get along with all personalities and can commit through to the end of the season. 2016 ski season runs from June 24th to September 18th. Most staff will have a commencement date of 10-18th June to allow for pre-season training and set up.

Comfortable onsite share accommodation (with ensuites) is provided for all staff, with 3 meals per day prepared by our chefs included in your board and lodging. All you need are your personal belongings and sense of adventure.
