Need Transport?
If you don’t have a car, it can be difficult for you to get to a ski resort as public transport is limited.
Staff Accommodation can be up to 30 minutes away from your job therefore plan your transport methods early.
Here’s some helpful information for each state.
NSW
Bus – Greyhound
Flying – Snowy Mountains Airport REX Sydney to Cooma
Taxi – Snowy Mountains Jindabyne Taxi
Shuttle – Snowy Mountains shuttle Airport to Jindabyne
Ski Tube – From Bullocks Flat (15mins from Jindabyne) to Perisher & Blue Cow
Snow Link – Private Transport in the Snowy Mountains
Hitch hiking – avoid it! That kind person that picks you up, can get fined over $200. It is not illegal to hitchhike in Australia though it is an offence to obstruct traffic by “soliciting … a ride … from within the roadway”. If you stay on the footpath, you’re legally in the clear.
Best to organise a lift early, the night before and confirm a safe meeting place for pick up.
Contribute to petrol, if you can, whenever you get a lift, $5 to $10 helps, as it’s expensive to own a car and the price of petrol is higher in country towns.
