Want to be a Ski Patroller?

To become a Paid Ski Patroller it’s best to apply directly with a resort you’re familiar with, as mountain knowledge is an important skill to have, together with a passion to help and an interest in first aid.

To become a Volunteer Ski Patroller, there is a level of committment, training and patrol days per season to maintain, usually 15 days per season, including a rosteered week and additional compulsory structured training days in first season.

Volunteer Ski Patrol Exams are via the Australian Ski Patrol Association ASPA and every 3 years need to be recertified.

Here are 6 steps to become a Volunteer Ski Patroller;

  1. Do your research, website check the resort you want to Volunteer Ski Patrol at. check for information on the test, prerequisites and criteria.- Perisher Ski Patrol,  Thredbo Ski Patrol
  2. Email your interest – Perisher,  Thredbo
  3. Get qualified a HLTAID006, current CPR certificates and a Working With Children clearance
  4. Take the Intake test  Thredbo 18/19th August 2018, ski test is Saturday and interviews on Sunday
  5. Take the Trainee Exam Thredbo 25 August 2018, includeds a Mountain Knowledge test and an Akja test
  6. Complete a Trainee Ticket book

Then you can ski with a real purpose!
